Facilitator Recruitment Fall 2016

We are recruiting FACILITATORS for the Fall 2016 semester. If you are interested in lesson planning and facilitating engaging conversations in Spanish this is an excellent opportunity for you. Facilitators meet with a group of students for 1-hour once a week to have a energetic yet instructive conversation in Spanish. They also attend club events (arts & crafts night, movie night, dancing night etc.).

We are looking for people who are:

· Motivated

· Organized

· Creative

· Committed

Also, you must have achieved at least an intermediate-advanced level of Spanish proficiency. We prefer that applicants:

· Have Studied Abroad

· Are Spanish Education Majors, Spanish Majors or Spanish Minors

· (OR) Are a native or heritage speaker

Please submit your resume and a 250-500 word personal statement in SPANISH covering why you are interested in facilitating, any pertinent experiences you have had teaching or leading and what you would do as a facilitator that would set you apart!

We are going to have a trivia night on general knowledge related to studying Spanish linguistics, literature & culture! Try to form teams of 3-4 people and there will be prizes for the winning team.

Mi Pueblo va a tener un partido de fútbol y una barbacoa! El partido de fútbol comenzará a las 14:00 (2:00pm) y terminará a las 16:00 (4:00pm). No va a ser un partido muy competitivo, así que los jugadores de fútbol de todos los niveles son bienvenidos. El partido de fútbol será en los campos de fútbol al lado de FAR en Field 9. Hola a todos! El jueves 21 de noviembre desde las 4:30 hasta las 8:00 habrá una oportunidad de hacer trabajo de voluntario en el banco de alimentos. Se necesita mucho hispanohablantes. Esta es una muy buena oportunidad para utilizar sus habilidades de hablar español para ayudar a la comunidad.

Come out to Murphy's Pub this Thursday (Dec 6) to spend some time in a Spanish/Spanglish atmosphere with Mi Pueblo!

This is our last event before next semester, and hopefully a nice chance to unwind before finals!
